Contour, Highlight + Filling In Your Brows For Beginners with PÜR Cosmetics

Contour and highlighting can be a great way to help define you flaws such as sharpening your jaw and slimming down your chin. Nowadays it's hard to find right kind of makeup to help you get that glowing look. But look no further because I found the products that can make all your flawless skin dreams come true! As I go along with this review I will be doing a tutorial/tips. By the end of this post you'll know how great PÜR Cosmetics are and how to contour and highlight like a pro!

For this tutorial I will be using PÜR Cosmetics Cameo Contour. The contour stick came in a box wrapped with a beautiful bow. Five sticks were included in the package and the 5 shades were light, medium, tan, dark and deep. These shades are perfect for people of any skin color and contour and highlight. 

The cameo contour stick had two ends, one for highlighting and one for contouring. Remember the highlight shade is not supposed to match your skin like foundation, but should be about two shades lighter than your skin for highlighting. The cameo contour stick also came with a mini instructions booklet for beginners. It has great tips for people who just laerning and also a face map to help you know where yo highlight and contour. The beauty blender was definitely a pro for this product because it helps you get a flawless finish and an airbrush effect. Make sure you damp your beauty blender before use. The tip (1) of the sponge is for small corners like the corners of your eyes or imperfections like zits, acne scars, etc. The flat side (2) is for blending around the eyes and nose.The bottom round (3) can be used to blend the large areas of the face and to blend your foundation. When damp, the sponge does it larger in size as you can see in the photo

 I swatched each sticks for you guys, the left side is all the highlights and the right is the contour. From top to bottom the shades are light, medium, tan, dark and deep. The cameo contour sticks were very smooth and creamy. They glided perfectly on my arm while I swatched and did the same on my face. As you can see on the picture below, in just the little swatches I did, my arm had even coverage in each shade.

Application: 

Step 1: Highlight:

• Center of the forehead
• Under brow bone
• Down the bridge of the nose
• Under eye
• Center of chin

Step 2: Contour

• Around forehead hairline
• Sides of nose
• Under cheekbone
• Under jawline

Cosmetics Cameo Contour Kit is available on their site here. It sells for $39.50, but I honestly do believe it is worth the money because it's great for everybody. Whether you're just learning, the steps are easy to follow and the stick is a much less of a hassle than a palette. It comes with everything you need including a beauty blender, which a lot of people will agree with me will give much more satisfying results than brushes. The convenience of the kit is also a definite plus. It doesn't take too much space and you can easily pack for traveling. Contouring and highlighting has never been so quick with the cameo stick. 

Now The Brows

For the eyebrows we will be using PÜR's Browder Perfecting Brow Powder. 

 The Browder also came wrapped in a bow with a little card that says #BrowsOnFleek plus another card that says It's the Little Things. I hope you guys are also getting this impression, but from what I can tell about PUR Cosmetics is that they put a lot of dedication and hard work in not only their products but their service and packaging too. To me, they take very good care for their customers and packages. 


The Browder came in three colors which are Brunette, Medium Brown and Brunette. I swatched the Browder in my wrist and from left to right, its Blonde, Medium Brown and Brunette.

 For a powder, this was pretty creamy but it did flake off a little. I took a picture of the little flakes that came off while I applied it to my wrists. It wasn't a major problem but it is worth mentioning.

The slanted and pointy wand did help me get an accurate filling and the cream-to-powder texture and an even coloring. The price for this is $22, which at first I thought was too much because of the flakes falling off but since the precision and results were satisfying I thought it was a fair deal. The bottles are small, but since they're only for eyebrows and you won't be using too much, a little goes a long way. After all it's the little things. 

  

Is Kylie Jenner's Lip Kit Worth The Hype? What Stopped Me From Buying It

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard by now that Kylie Jenner came out with her very own Lip Kit. It's the product that everybody can't stop talking about, and the product that sold in under a minute. Nowadays, people everywhere want lips as full as Kylie. They're starting to look like Kevin from Spongebob, when he got stung by a jellyfish.

Hearing all the buzz around her lip kits made me want to go out and buy her lip kits. After all treat yo'self right?

 
While it was waiting for her kits to go for sale, there was one thing that stopped me. According to a lot of people, and what seems to be true by now, is that Kylie's Lip Kits are just Colourpop's lipsticks rebranded. I first heard about it on Twitter and even screenshot the tweets, to do a little more research. Shout out to NikkieTutorials for watching our backs. Pretty soon it was every where that Kylie's Lip Kits were just Colourpop, what a bummer for her customers. Especially those who are trying to sell it for $10,000 (yes $10,000) on eBay. 

Colourpop's specific lipsticks are Clueless, Beeper and Limbo. The Colourpop lipstick only sells for $6! Here is a side-by-side photo of both brands and notice how the similarity is uncanny. 

It's honestly depressing to see how some people spent $90 or more on products that could've been bought for $18. Whether or not her products are just Colourpop rebranded it still hasn't been confirmed, but I think we can all agree it's pretty obvious. I feel just because Kylie's name was written on these products, people thought they would get lips as big as hers. If she admitted to getting lip fillers (there's nothing wrong with that), then I think you'd also have to get lip fillers to get lips like her's. Yes, makeup can make your lips look fuller, they won't actually be fuller. Does that make sense? I have no hate towards Kylie, but she can do so much better than this. So many people look up to her and it's shame that this incident happened, I thought it would've been exciting to see her lips kits. Anyhow, she said she will be coming out with more products and I can't to see what she has in store next. 

The Next Big Thing: Eye Polish and Lip Lacquer by PÜR Minerals

Greetings my fellow readers! Isn't fall just about the best season there is? And I'm not talking about the leaves changing, sweater weather or pumpkin flavored everything. It's fall looks. I love fall makeup looks. I am dying to share with you these gorgeous fall eye and lip collection from PÜR Minerals.  I actually meant to post this review a while back but I lost all of my pictures that I had for this blog post. I had eye and lip swatches/looks with the products I am about to review but I reset my phone and forgot to back everything up. So instead I decided to use swatches for this review instead. I will however do more looks later and upload them on my Twitter and Instagram, so keep and eye out for PÜR Minerals.

I'll start off the review with the eye polish first.

 The difference between PÜR Minerals eye polish and possibly every other eyeshadow is that they are not pigmented, they're more creamy. This made it easier to apply the eyeshadow and less of a mess because it didn't flake off and ruin my foundation or have to put a napkin under my eye while applying. The creamyness (is that even a word?) especially made it easier to blend in the colors. I felt there was no need to apply an eyeshadow primer because I use a primer to help stick on my eyeshadow and since this eye polish won't flake off there is no use for it. You can use it as a base, top coat or alone. 

To me, it was great alone but if you want, you can use it as a base and then apply a pigment eyeshadow for more of a dramatic effect or vice versa. Each eye polish came with a brush. The brush was also different since it wasn't a brush, it was more of a silicone brush. I thought it was really smart of them to also create a special brush for their eye polish. The silicone brush's material made the eye polish slide off and there was no residue left on the brush. This was definitely a pro because I knew none of the eye polish was going to waste on the brush. Regular eyeshadows tend to leave leftovers and use up more eyeshadows, but not this.

The colors are perfect for fall. They pop and sparkle, but they somehow look so natural. They are great for everyday looks, but if you also want to glam up a bit. The picture below show swatches of the eyeshadow colors. which one is your favorite? Mine is either velvet or cashmere. Each one is $26, but I'll let you decided if it's worth it or not.

The last half of PÜR Minerals fall collection is their Hydrating Lip Lacquer. I am not lying when I saw everything in this post is my new love. First of all, look how cute their packaging is?

  

The tip of the lip lacquers were shower head sponges. The precise tip made application effortless with one stroke. You twist the bottom of the lip pens and the lacquer comes out like little worms through the shower head. (Okay maybe worms is not the best description, but hey, it works) The softness of the tip made it soft and gentle on my lips. Some lip glosses use plastic that make it too rough on my lips and tend to dry them out, especially since you're repeatedly stroking your lips back and forth. You need to twist it a little bit before you actually see anything come out but make sure not to to twist out too much. Once it's pumped up all the way, twist it just a little bit because a small dab is all you need. The was one of the things I really liked about PUR Mineral's lip glosses, is that you don't need a lot of it. It lasted all day and surprisingly hydrated my lips. When companies say their lips product are hydrating, they sometimes means as in they don't dry out your lips but at the same time they don't moisturize lips. But in all honestly, it felt like I was wearing lip balm with lip gloss. Each one of these is $22 and if you're the type of person who's quality over quantity than I highly recommend this for you, or anyone who wants gorgeous lips in 2 seconds. Below is a picture of how the pen looks and also swatches. Which one is your fav? They are all to die for but I have to say Belle is my favorite (not because that's also my favorite Disney Princess) and Mystic.

• Mystic – ripe black berry with a hint of raspberry

So, are you quality over quantity? Or is it better to settle for less and save money? Personally, I think while it's nice to save money, it can also be more satisfying to splurge more for better results. Trying out these lips and eye color products from PUR Minerals, gave me a positive outlook on them and their products and I highly recommend it to anyone. I hope you like their products as much as I did.

How To Get The Perfect Eyebrows

"Eyebrows are one of the most important features of our faces - and yet they are often the most neglected."

There is no doubt that eyebrows are the important features that are hard to maintain. I recently found two products that will help you get the perfect brows.

The first product that will help you is from Billion Dollar Brows (love the name!). Billion Dollar Brows is the only cosmetics company dedicated to brows. Their Complete Brow Tools kit has everything you need to fix any problems you have with your brows. It includes the Universal Brow Pencil, Brow Duo Pencil, Brow Gel, and a Smudge Brush.




The first tool is the Universal Brow Pencil. One end has bristles to brush your brows and the other end has the pencil to fill in your brows. The Brush was great for smoothing out my brows and straightening them out. The pencil also helped fill in my eyebrows and blended in perfectly. It also works on both blondes and brunettes. The pencil is also creamy and glides right onto my brows. A nice thing about this product is that the pencil always stays sharpened. 


 

The Kit also comes with a  Brow Duo Highlighter. This highlighter was great for giving me a "wide awake" look.You can use it to highlight your brow bone and add more definition to your brows.The other end of the pencil has a concealer which is very convenient for a quick touch-up. 

A brow gel is also included. This gel is like hairspray but for your brows. Once you've brushed your brows apply a thin layer on. The gel helps hold the hairs in place and lock them in. The gel is clear so you don't have to worry about it showing and it lasted pretty long. Another pro about this gel is that is dries soft not hard. The highlighter works on all skin tones.





 

The last thing is a smudge brush. The brush had a flat end is used to blend in the Brow Duo Pencil. It was gentle on my brows so I didn't have to apply a lot of pressure to blend in the concealer or the highlighter. There's not much to say about this brush but I can say a lot about the kit. It has everything you need to get your dream brows.

\The last product is from Paula Dorf's. It's their 2+1 For Brows and Perfect Brow Brush. Both products come separate. The product includes 2 colors + 1 light wax. The wax a lot creamy than I thought it would be, which is actually a good thing. It also lasted all day  and didn't flake which made me feel a lot more confident about my brows. This was perfect for filling in my missing hairs and giving my brows a fuller and more defined look. You simply dip the brush in the color you want and lightly dip it in the wax and then VOILA! The colors come in blonde, brunette, neutral or red so anyone can fill in their brows. The perfect brow brush is angled so it's fit better for your brows.

The word on the necklace is "Love" written in cursive. There are 11 holes to change the necklace's height. There is a pearl on the letter "o" and a little gem that hangs from the letter "e." Because this  necklace is kind of small, you can wear it with other necklaces and you won't be over doing it with the jewelry. This necklace is so adorable and I recommend it for everyone.  It is only $0.99, I don't see any reason not to get it!
